Here’s a superb video presenting some of the most iconic photographs of all time. Note that most of them are not technically brilliant, they are not tack-sharp, they are often grainy and soft, most are not particularly well composed and often they are poorly exposed. But they all have one thing in common: they capture a moment and tell a story. It is the moment that captivates us, not the technicalities of the photo. I would guess that most of these pictures were not planned and the main reason the photographers could capture them was because they happened to always be carrying a camera with them.
